About the role

The Island Health Department of Medical Imaging in Duncan is seeking a Locum Radiologist at the Cowichan District Hospital (CDH). A new hospital is planned to open in 2027. The practice is a small group of 7 radiologists, offering a collegial and supportive environment. The Cowichan Valley features scenic waterfront communities, lush countryside, mountains, and a temperate West Coast climate that enables year‑round outdoor activities and excellent schools.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT, US, MRI, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, BMD and basic interventional procedures.
• Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills to work harmoniously within the group.
• Contribute to administrative tasks and be open to future leadership roles.
• Show interest in living in the local island community.
• Be willing to train in CT Cardiac Coronary Angiography and CT Colonography (training or willingness).
• Embrace a lifestyle‑based practice with abundant vacation time and flexibility, while being prepared to increase workload as needed.

Requirements

• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Radiology.
• Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
• Available to start May 1, 2024.

Skills

• Experience or interest in MRI or MSK imaging is an asset.
