About the Role

The Diagnostic Procedure Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Radiology and Cardiopulmonary departments. This role requires advanced assessment skills, expertise in moderate sedation, airway management, emergency response, and continuous patient monitoring to ensure safe, high-quality care before, during, and after procedures. The RN serves as a critical member of the procedural team, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals while advocating for patient safety and positive clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures, ensuring all patient safety standards are followed.
• Assist with and monitor patients undergoing:
  • Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA)
  • CT-guided biopsies
  • Ultrasound-guided biopsies
  • Lumbar punctures
  • Thoracentesis
  • Thyroid biopsies
  • Arthrograms
  • Paracentesis
• Cardiopulmonary procedures ensuring pre-procedural time out is performed but not limited to:
  • Definity
  • Bubble studies
  • Lexiscan
  • Dobutamine studies

Requirements

• Maintain current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.
• Must maintain current CPR certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
