Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Role: Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with standards, policies, and patient care protocols. Responsibilities Reviews patient history, educates patients about procedures, and prepares contrast media or medications if needed.Monitors patient condition, prepares equipment, and adjusts imaging parameters for optimal results.Ensures safety standards, performs quality control, troubleshoots equipment issues, and accurately reports findings.Positions patients, conducts imaging procedures, analyzes image quality, and repositions or repeats scans as necessary.Works independently with critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment, potentially assisting students. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of accredited Ultrasound or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.Registration as RDMS, RVT, RDCS, or certification by ARRT; applicable state licensure.Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross, valid through sixty days of employment.
