Position Summary

Diagnostics Laboratory Technologist is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and test result reporting as defined by CLIA'88. The DLT provides service in one of more sections of the laboratory with a high level of accuracy, prevision and timeliness and ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory agency standards. Service is provided to patients of all age groups. Non-technical duties include taking supply inventories, stocking supplies, cleaning and maintaining work area, equipment and instrumentation. DLT will abide by Children's Minnesota Values in all facets of their work.

Education

  • Bachelor's in a Chemistry or Biological sciences field with a minimum of 24 semester hours of science courses that include:
    • Six semester hours of chemistry
    • Six semester hours of biology
    • Twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations Required?

No

Experience

  • Up to 1 year of experience in a clinical or anatomic diagnostic laboratory
  • PREFERRED: 2 years documented laboratory training in the specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

Pay

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs. In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits.
