Diabetes Patient Educator - Registered Dietitian

Overview

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Diabetes Educator who will provide in-patient services to patients referred by providers. The role involves teaching patients about insulin starts, glucommander, pumps, insulin delivery devices, and nutrition and carb counting.

Responsibilities

• Teach patients about insulin starts, glucommander, pumps, insulin delivery devices, and nutrition and carb counting.
• Provide in-patient services to patients referred by providers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
• Certified Registered Dietitian (RD) - Certified by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Qualifications

• Experience in diabetes education preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Knowledge of diabetes management and treatment options.
• Ability to educate patients effectively.
• Proficiency in using glucommander and insulin delivery devices.
