Diabetes Educator

About the Role

Seeking a part-time Diabetes Educator to provide individualized education for clients with diabetes across all ages. The educator collaborates with a team of RNs and RDs in both classroom and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health and education assessments.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate personalized education plans that address psychosocial, economic, and language barriers.
• Provide comprehensive diabetes education tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to support patient care.
• Participate in professional development and community outreach activities.

Requirements

• Oregon Dietitian License and National CDR Registered Dietitian certification.
• At least three years of recent experience in diabetes treatment and education.
• Knowledge of adult learning theories and clinical diabetes management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Credentials in adult learning principles.
• Certification in Diabetes Education (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience with diverse ethnic groups.
