About the role

This position is for the Division of Endocrinology within the Department of Pediatrics. The PI seeks to recruit an enthusiastic research assistant to participate in a type 1 diabetes research program focused on designing, testing, and implementing patient and provider-facing interventions and tools that maximize innovative technology to optimize outcomes for every child with type 1 diabetes. The research assistant would participate in a variety of research studies spanning mixed methods, human-centered design, and cohort studies. This position is located at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research assessments and procedures independently
  • Oversees operations when leadership is unavailable
  • Recruits and screens participants, reviews records and surveys, and maintains databases
  • Performs routine data analysis and prepares reports, data visualizations, and models
  • Regulatory activities
  • Participant recruitment and consenting
  • Quantitative data collection and management
  • Qualitative data collection and analysis
  • Participant payments
  • Community engagement activities

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and/or experience requirement
  • Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement

Pay

The salary range for this part-time position will be prorated based on 53% effort as the position is 20 hours per week.

Schedule

Hours will be generally set during business hours to facilitate recruitment during clinic visits. Some evenings may be requested to assist with community engagement activities. Work arrangement is hybrid: combination of on-campus and remote work as determined by the department.
