DGSun Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced DGSun Engineer with deep expertise in Basis International’s Progression/5 (BBx, Pro/5) and Business Basic for Java (BBj) languages. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in actively developing new features and integrations within these technologies.

Requirements

• 10+ years of recent, active development experience specifically with Progression/5 (BBx, Pro/5) and Business Basic for Java (BBj).
• 80% of time spent on new feature development rather than break-fix or minor production support enhancements.
• Current BBj experience focused on integrations (not graphical user interfaces).
• Experience with integrations in/out of a Pro/5 system (e.g., HTTP, XML, RPC).
• Demonstrated ability to learn and work with custom codebases developed by others.
• Experience developing based on specifications created by others and working within a formal SDLC environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and writing SQL queries for troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Hospitality or Vacation Ownership industry.
• Development experience with both Progression/5 and BBj for system-to-system integrations.
• Unix/Linux shell scripting experience.
• Experience with other Business Basic variants such as Thoroughbred BASIC, ProvideX (now PxPlus), or MAI OpenBasic.
• Experience using external logging platforms like Splunk or Dynatrace for troubleshooting.
