DevOps Software Engineer
Position Overview
Aurora Flight Sciences, a Boeing Company, designs, builds, and flies advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to contribute to the advancement of flight technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain capabilities in the tool stack and software used in Aurora's mission – Advancing the Future of Flight.
- Work with IT professionals and engineering teams to deliver time-critical designs for Aurora’s products.
- Translate modestly defined requirements into solutions that meet Aurora's IT standards and Aurora's mission.
- Manage development cycles in integration/continuous deployment mode, focusing on process monitoring, incident management, testing, and automation of security controls.
- Investigate and analyze threats in processes and code updates, responding quickly to identified risks.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and develop automations for the organization.
- Provide second-level technical support for complex issues.
Minimum Requirements
- US Person
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or equivalent corporate experience/certifications
- Experience with IT infrastructure and in-house software applications installation and maintenance
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages: C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, Bash scripting
Preferred Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to translate user requirements into design/requirements and implement them
- Advanced skills in designing and integrating complex tool stacks across multiple platforms and applications
- Experience working with IT to tailor NIST cybersecurity platform requirements into concrete solutions
- Familiarity with NIST-800 security policies and risk assessment techniques
- Effective communication skills to teach concepts like scalability, automation, and security
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on-site weekly at our Manassas, VA site
Salary Range (Annualized USD)
- Minimum Range: $69,000.00 to $123,000.00
- Maximum Range: $88,000.00 to $157,000.00
