DevOps Lead
About the Company
We are NEURAL EARTH. We bring clarity to physical risk, enabling leaders to engage with confidence and enact resilient, business-critical decisions. Today's environmental, economic, and infrastructure challenges are deeply interconnected, yet the data required to understand these relationships is scattered across siloed and aging systems. Neural Earth enables operational execution, delivering a single decision intelligence platform that unifies planetary, governmental, and asset-level data, always on and always learning. This is technical work that requires patience. It requires teams willing to operate at the intersection of AI research, geospatial science, distributed systems, and enterprise deployment. It is also incredibly rewarding. Join us at Neural Earth — the next frontier is here.
About the Team
You'll join Neural Earth's Product Engineering organization, working across the infrastructure, security, and reliability layer that underpins every product line we ship. You'll work closely with our DevOps and platform team, most directly with your manager, to keep deployment, observability, and cloud infrastructure running smoothly day to day as we scale.
About the Role
As DevOps Engineer II, you'll own the steady-state reliability of our infrastructure: keeping CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and monitoring running smoothly so the rest of engineering can move fast without friction. This is an execution-focused role. Speed and reliable day-to-day operation matter more here than deep architectural ownership. You'll work in close partnership with your manager, ramping up on our existing systems over time, which frees him to focus on higher-value security and architecture projects.
This is you if you want to build real depth in production infrastructure, you don't need to walk in an expert on day one, and you're excited to grow into more ownership as you learn our systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain our CI/CD pipelines and containerized infrastructure (Docker, ECS/ECR Fargate, Terraform), keeping deployments fast and reliable day to day
- Monitor cloud infrastructure on AWS, catching and resolving issues before they affect customers
- Support incident response, helping triage and resolve production issues as they come up
- Execute steady-state maintenance and operational work, freeing up senior team members to focus on architecture and security priorities
- Ramp into our existing systems and tooling, building depth over time as you take on more ownership
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering
- Working experience with Docker, AWS (ECS/ECR Fargate), and Terraform. Strong Azure or GCP experience is also welcome.
- Python scripting and Kubernetes experience are both a plus
- Cybersecurity experience, including CMMC or ISO 27001/2, is a big plus, not required
- Experience with AI coding agents (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code)
- Ability to accommodate up to 10% travel
Skills
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Comfortable operating in AWS environments day to day (strong Azure or GCP experience translates well too)
- Worked with Docker and container orchestration in a production setting; experience with Kubernetes is a big plus as it's on our roadmap
- Comfortable with Python for scripting and automation, and you've used AI coding agents (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) in your workflow, or are eager to
- Know how to keep CI/CD pipelines running smoothly and troubleshoot when they break
- Move quickly and reliably on operational work without needing everything spelled out
- Comfortable jumping into existing systems and learning as you go, eager to grow your skills and take on more scope over time
- Communicate clearly when something's broken or at risk, even under time pressure
- Care about doing the fundamentals well and consistently, not just the interesting problems
