About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer (Cloud-Prem) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will take full ownership of our enterprise deployment infrastructure, managing and integrating our Kubernetes-based platform within customer-managed cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, and Azure. This is a highly autonomous position that requires a proactive mindset, technical expertise, and the ability to navigate complex, unfamiliar systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our deployments, troubleshooting real-time issues, and developing automation tools to streamline onboarding and operational processes. Your work will directly impact our clients' experience, making this a pivotal role in our growth and customer success initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or related fields, preferably within product-driven B2B SaaS or developer platforms
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes, Docker containers, and container orchestration
- Proficiency with cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, and Azure, with hands-on experience in VPCs and tenant boundaries
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Helm
- Solid understanding of Linux networking, security policies, storage drivers, and database infrastructure management (PostgreSQL, Redis)
- Excellent scripting skills in Python and Bash for diagnostics, automation, and deployment fixes
- Experience working directly with clients in deployment, onboarding, or field engineering roles
- Ability to work independently with an ownership mentality and navigate ambiguity effectively
- Location in Austin or Chicago is required
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end enterprise deployments by installing, configuring, and upgrading Qodo's Kubernetes-based platform within customer-managed cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Perform real-time troubleshooting and reverse-engineering of environments, diagnosing issues, and creating custom scripts to resolve platform constraints
- Act as a technical liaison during customer onboarding processes, providing high-touch support and ensuring smooth deployment experiences
- Develop Infrastructure as Code modules (Terraform, Helm) and create comprehensive internal documentation to automate and standardize onboarding procedures
- Maintain and optimize the performance and health of core infrastructure components such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and container networking within client environments
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement best practices for scalability, security, and reliability
- Identify opportunities for automation and build tools to enhance operational efficiency
- Stay current with industry trends and continuously improve deployment processes and infrastructure architecture
