DevOps Engineer, Sr
About the role
A DevOps Engineer, Sr. at GDIT supports our intelligence customer in St. Louis, MO or Springfield, VA. You will join the Common Operations Release Environment (CORE) team, delivering high-quality, cost-effective cloud solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Automate and optimize service deployments
- Integrate with enterprise authentication services
- Establish and improve system monitoring while maintaining established security protocols
- Architect, build and maintain On-Prem and cloud infrastructure
- Maintain and improve existing infrastructure
- Administer production, staging and development environments
- Manage and aggregate server logs and monitor for security and system related incidents
- Monitor and analyze system performance
- Maintain and improve existing build and deployment processes
- Apply configuration management disciplines
- Enforce best practices for security and reliability
- Work with A&A Teams to maintain security requirements
- Maintain documentation of designs/configurations
- Manage operational readiness board
- Participate in SAFe and Scrum development teams and meetings
- On-call support
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with container images and platforms (Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift)
- Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processes
- Understanding of GitLab or other DevOps/Continuous Integration tools
- Understanding of microservice design and architectural pattern best practices
- Experience with Python, Bash, and Shell scripting
- Knowledge of network technologies, common infrastructure components, load balancers, firewalls, virtual and physical infrastructure design
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management skills
Skills
- Experience in building processes for deploying to a Kubernetes based environment using Gitlab and Helm
- Experience with access management and security groups
- Experience with unit and functional testing
- Experience using Jira and Confluence

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $138,550 - $187,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
