About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our enterprise shared service team. This role supports the development, operations, and business users across the enterprise by providing advanced DevOps tooling and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain DevOps tooling, infrastructure, and pipelines to support CI/CD processes.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and business teams to identify and resolve infrastructure and service issues.
  • Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of DevOps tools and infrastructure.
  • Develop and support AI solutions to improve developer productivity.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and other stakeholders on DevOps best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of standards, policies, and procedures for DevOps within the enterprise.
  • Work with business users to understand their needs and provide solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Solve highly complex issues or create highly complex solutions independently.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of DevOps tools and processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for critical incidents and issues.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our DevOps practices.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must be a U.S. citizen and possess a strong background in DevOps practices, cloud technologies, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • DevOps Engineer: Associates degree and 5 years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related work experience OR Master’s degree and 0-1 year of related work experience
  • Senior DevOps Engineer: Associate's degree and 7 years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 5 years of related work experience OR Master’s degree and 3 years of related work experience

Skills

  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing DevOps practices in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Profound understanding of DevOps principles and practice.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab).
  • Strong proficiency in configuration management tools and practices.
  • Deep knowledge of containerization and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Expertise in AWS cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI models (e.g., Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT) and associated harnesses (e.g., Claude Code, Codex).
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go).
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Atlassian suite experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of security practices and compliance requirements in a DevOps environment.

Pay

The expected starting salary range for the DevOps Engineer is between $90,500 and $113,100 annually, and for the Senior DevOps Engineer is between $111,400 and $139,200 annually. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
