DevOps Engineer, Senior
About the role
As a senior platform DevOps engineer at Booz Allen, you will develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client’s needs and leverages cloud capabilities. Your responsibilities include developing container management software, supporting your team in strategy and design, and recommending resources to help your client manage and securely adopt containers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and Rancher or EKS
- Manage tools deployed with Helm using ArgoCD or Flux, including writing custom Helm charts and automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, or IaC tool suite
- Support the development of critical cloud platforms and inform strategy
- Ensure standards are met throughout the containerization process
- Recommend resources to help clients manage and securely adopt containers
- Strengthen DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in an AWS cloud environment
- 5+ years of experience with containerization, building images, and orchestrating deployments in Kubernetes and Rancher or EKS
- 4+ years of experience managing tools deployed with Helm using ArgoCD or Flux, including writing custom Helm charts, and with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, or IaC tool suite
- Experience developing custom applications and supporting them in a production environment
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing such as CI/CD
- Knowledge of container networking, monitoring, and storage solutions
- Knowledge of container security technologies and evaluating and mitigating or resolving vulnerability findings
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- DoD 8570 Level II Certification
Skills
- Experience developing in Java or Python
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or ElasticSearch, Kibana, and FluentD
- Experience with the design, deployment, and management of Cloud environments, including AWS or Azure
- Experience using or migrating CI/CD pipeline solutions or tools, including Jenkins, Git, or TeamCity
- Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML
- Experience with scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby and leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration
- Knowledge of cloud and virtualization-based technologies, including Docker, Azure, AWS, or VMware
- Knowledge of Linux or UNIX administration and automation
- Knowledge of foundational system administration principles

Pay
$77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD)
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
