About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer II to join our FOLIO Operations team. This role involves supporting large-scale, cloud-based library platforms, with a focus on building resilient infrastructure, automating operational processes, and ensuring high availability of mission-critical systems within a multi-tenant SaaS environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing the FOLIO Library Management System, an open-source, cloud-native platform designed to meet the needs of modern libraries worldwide.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and willingness to obtain a government security clearance
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in AWS operations and support, including ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, Lambda, and automation development
- Strong proficiency with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkins
- Proficiency in Java, Groovy, and scripting languages
- Experience working with microservices and serverless architectures
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and JSM
- Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Able to support multiple products simultaneously (preferably 2-3 systems)
- Customer-focused mindset with proactive problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work during standard US Eastern business hours (8-5)
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain highly scalable production systems across multiple products including FOLIO, LOCATE, and MetaDB in a dynamic environment
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to ensure system reliability and performance
- Develop and enhance automation processes using Java, Groovy, and scripting to streamline operations
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure leveraging AWS services such as CloudFormation, ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, Route53, CloudFront, Load Balancers, and Lambda
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows utilizing Jenkins and related tools
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system availability and incident response
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer environments at scale
- Assist in managing API gateway and authentication layers, including Kong and Keycloak
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through AI and automation techniques
