Responsibilities
- Contribute to the Engineering Excellence Initiative, an enterprise program focused on improving software delivery, security, architecture standards, and developer productivity.
- Support the implementation of engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle while collaborating with Architecture, Security, Platform Engineering, and Application Development teams.
- Work extensively with GitHub, GitHub Actions, AWS, and GCP to support repository governance, CI/CD modernization, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native platform capabilities.
- Help implement GitHub repository standards and policies, support repository lifecycle management, integrate security and compliance controls into development workflows, and assist with the migration and optimization of GitHub Actions runners.
- Contribute to SDLC hardening efforts through automation, vulnerability remediation, infrastructure-as-code practices, and cloud platform engineering.
- Improve development workflows, enhance security posture, and support the delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure solutions across the enterprise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Engineering, or related infrastructure/software engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise, including repository management, branch protection, governance, and GitHub Actions.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms, including AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and configuration management best practices.
- Proficiency with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate operational and engineering tasks.
- Experience working with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with security best practices, including integrating security scanning, secrets management, and compliance controls into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps).
- Experience using version control systems (Git) and collaborating in Agile software development environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to support distributed engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Architecture, Security, Platform Engineering, and Application Development teams.
Preferred
- Experience administering GitHub Enterprise at scale, including organization policies, repository governance, and GitHub Actions runners.
- Experience implementing cloud-native platform capabilities across AWS and GCP.
- Familiarity with software supply chain security practices, including dependency management, SBOMs, and artifact security.
- Experience supporting enterprise engineering transformation initiatives or developer experience (DevEx) programs.
- AWS and/or Google Cloud certifications are a plus.
