Contract opportunity in Danvers, MA — 3 days per week onsite.
About the role
Support the development and deployment of advanced medical-device software at the intersection of DevOps, embedded software, and medical technology. Focus on CI/CD, DevOps tooling, embedded development, and automation using GitLab, Jenkins, C, Python, Bash, Linux/QNX, Jira, and JAMA.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (30 %)
- Develop embedded software in C, Python, and Bash (25 %)
- Administer Linux/QNX infrastructure (20 %)
- Automate DevOps workflows, security, and compliance tasks (15 %)
- Maintain project tooling (Jira, JAMA) (10 %)
- Perform hands-on engineering and development (40 %)
- Conduct troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective action (20 %)
- Collaborate across software and embedded engineering teams (20 %)
- Architect scalable deployment solutions and improve processes (10 %)
- Provide technical mentorship and communicate with stakeholders (10 %)
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or another engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
- Strong experience designing, implementing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with GitLab and Jenkins
- Strong programming/scripting experience with C, Python, and Bash
- Experience with Linux, QNX, or other Unix-like operating systems
- Experience with DevOps tools for CI/CD, infrastructure management, logging, compliance, and security scanning
- Experience architecting scalable and reliable software deployment solutions
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Ability to identify process gaps and implement technical improvements
