DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support cloud infrastructure and system administration
• Support system operations and maintenance
• Maintain updated repositories on multiple fabrics
• Manage backup and restore process for core services
• Monitor general system and server health, create solutions where needed
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues
• Avoid security scans and security accreditation activities
• Perform system account management (managing certificates, system credentials, expiration dates)
• Deploy the environments and tools to support the data science community
• Create standalone applications and services
• Lead efforts to develop new ways to access the platform in controlled security environments

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in Linux including scripting (Bash, Python) and service management
• Experience building and deploying applications in AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Compute Environment
• Experience with deployment automation and continuous integration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and version control (Git, GitLab)
• Experience with code repositories and build/development pipelines (Jenkins, Maven, or Nexus)
• Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, or Marathon)
• Experience working with software development teams under source control project environments
• US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Experience

• At least 10 years of DevOps / software engineering experience
• Knowledge of SQL and relational database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, RDS)
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services
• Experience working with distributed databases and streaming technologies, for example, Hadoop, Spark, Yarn, Hive, Trino
• Knowledge of or experience with data science applications such as Python, Anaconda, Jupyter Notebook or NiFi

The location of this job is Reston, VA.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
