DevOps Engineer

About The Role

The DevOps Engineer (NGSC) will focus on building, maintaining, and optimizing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation processes across AWS and Azure environments. The role involves implementing infrastructure-as-code practices, managing container orchestration, and ensuring platform security operations, including patching and vulnerability management, to support federal mission-critical requirements.

The DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and program management teams to ensure that all solutions adhere to federal security standards such as NIST and FISMA. The role demands a proactive approach to automating operational tasks, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the deployment of containerized workloads, particularly on Amazon EKS.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in DevOps engineering with a strong background in cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipeline development
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation and Ansible
• Experience deploying and managing containerized applications on Amazon EKS
• Solid understanding of patch management and vulnerability management processes and tools
• Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages
• Able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working effectively in remote and distributed team environments

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab to support application and infrastructure deployment processes
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Ansible, and related tools
• Architect and support cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure platforms
• Deploy, manage, and optimize containerized workloads on Amazon EKS
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to enhance deployment speed, reliability, and consistency
• Oversee patch management processes across various infrastructure and application environments
• Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, remediation, and reporting
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure DevOps practices align with federal security and compliance standards (NIST, FISMA)
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and optimize deployment pipelines
• Partner with program management and technical leads to support project deliverables, documentation, and compliance requirements
