About the role

Northwest Partners is engaged in a strategic initiative with a well-established organization and seeks an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a critical technology and data transformation initiative. This role will focus on building and operating cloud platforms, automation, and delivery capabilities that enable engineering teams to develop, deploy, and run secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and platform automation.
  • Automate environment provisioning, deployments, monitoring, and operational processes.
  • Support production operations, incident management, root cause analysis, and reliability engineering.
  • Implement platform security, DevSecOps controls, and compliance automation.
  • Partner with engineering teams to establish production readiness, resiliency, and operational best practices.
  • Develop reusable platform capabilities that improve developer productivity and operational consistency.
  • Support the development and evolution of cloud-based technology and data foundations.
  • Establish monitoring and observability capabilities across applications, infrastructure, and distributed systems.
  • Help implement governance automation, policy-as-code, auditability, and compliance controls.
  • Support secure and reliable delivery practices across both traditional applications and emerging AI-enabled solutions.
  • Contribute to broader technology transformation initiatives and provide technical guidance on DevOps and platform engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with AWS cloud engineering and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Proven background in CI/CD, automation, DevOps, and platform engineering.
  • Experience working with containers, APIs, distributed systems, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
  • Experience supporting production environments, incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, DevSecOps practices, and compliance automation.
  • Experience building scalable, reliable, and reusable platform capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of observability and operational excellence principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with observability platforms such as CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk.
  • Experience with governance automation, policy-as-code, auditability, and compliance controls.
  • Experience with security telemetry, regulated environments, and DevSecOps.
  • Exposure to AI governance, model monitoring, or agent/LLM observability.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with engineering, technology, and business stakeholders.
