About the role
ECI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Global Technology team, supporting several client systems. This full-time, customer-facing role requires excellent communication and people skills, a positive attitude, rigorous work habits, and professionalism. Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required. The position is in-office 5 days a week to start, and applicants must reside within commutable distance to Midtown Manhattan.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of automated/continuous build, deploy, and release processes using CI/CD pipeline tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Nexus/Artifactory, etc.
- Design and implement fully automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead monitoring, debugging, and enhancing pipelines for optimal operation and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, conducting root cause analysis.
- Manage escalation of production issues.
- Define and measure KPIs for operational excellence.
- Write and execute load tests for services regularly.
- Automate configuration management using Puppet, Chef, or equivalent tools.
- Set up development, staging, demo, and production environments.
- Automate testing procedures and recurring tasks.
- Maintain deployment pipelines for infrastructure as code.
- Provide technical support to development engineers on tool usage and build environments.
- Administer JIRA, Confluence, and formulate technical solutions using Atlassian products.
- Maintain and improve existing build and deployment processes.
- Create and maintain playbooks.
Requirements
- In-depth experience designing and implementing fully automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with distributed systems and high-volume, high-availability environments.
- Excellent programming, SQL, and scripting skills.
- In-depth coding experience in PowerShell and Connectwise (required).
- In-depth coding experience in Golang/Java; scripting experience in Perl/Python (preferred).
- Experience with logging/system dashboard tools.
- Technical leadership experience with DevOps teams.
- Experience with on-call responsibilities and production issue escalation.
- Experience with GIT, Ansible, Jenkins, and AWS backups.
- Experience implementing CI/CD and DB instance upgrades.
- Experience creating/scheduling jobs using shell scripts and file handling.
- Strong understanding of Agile, software development lifecycle, and microservice architecture.
- Working knowledge of GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Good presentation, report writing, and project management skills.
- Delivery focus with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
