Developmental Specialist II

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Developmental Specialist works with families to provide age-appropriate developmental services for infants and toddlers, 0-3 years of age. Developmental Specialists travel to meet families in their most natural environment often in their home or village. Developmental Specialists work within a multidiscipline team and help children and families transition into their next placement before the age of 3.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an early childhood special education, social work or a related field
• Professional licensure/certification in teaching, social work, or master’s degree in related field
• Minimum of one year experience working with young children
• Able to work with in a team
• Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the child served in their case load
• Must be able to obtain Alaska SEED credentials of level 10 or higher within the first six months on the job during regularly scheduled work hours
