Vinfen is a nonprofit organization providing community-based services to individuals with various disabilities and challenges. This position plays a crucial role in supporting and advocating for those served.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Program Instructors, interns, volunteers, and relief staff.
- Provide training, coaching, mentoring, and staff development activities.
- Directly observe and interact with Program Instructors during program hours.
- Develop and recommend ISP’s, safety assessments, and other assessments.
- Manage a caseload of individuals served, implementing and evaluating clinical and adaptive skills programs.
- Advocate for the needs of individuals served in all areas.
- Ensure the preservation of human rights for individuals served.
- Act as a positive role model and advocate for individuals in all areas.
- Participate in consultation meetings with clinical staff.
- Work directly with individuals served individually and in groups.
- Assist with community involvement, relationship building, personal care, and activities of daily living.
- Assess functional skills and identify appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain contact with family members and residential staff members.
- Train, mentor, and support staff in age-appropriate activities and groups.
- Document specific data and perform monthly or quarterly reviews of data.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned, stored appropriately, and in good repair.
- Communicate consistently with management regarding treatment and skill development programs.
- Participate in ISP teams and ensure individuals are actively engaged in meaningful activities.
- Complete continuous training in applied behavioral analysis and teaching techniques.
- Complete required in-service training on Positive Behavior Support modules.
- Prepare for and attend 6-month review progress summaries and annual assessments.
- Organize and lead individual/group activities and community integration.
- Notify management staff of any emergencies.
- Perform as the Human Rights Officer and Fire Safety Officer if assigned.
Qualifications
- One to two years experience in a related function.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Driving is a requirement for this position using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle.
- Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid US driver's license, and pass a driver's screening background check.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, lift at least 25 pounds, and operate various office equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- CPR, First Aid, Safety Care, MAP, and NET certifications are required within specified timeframes.
