Development Assistant
About the role
This role provides direct administrative support for the Executive Director of Health Care Philanthropy as well as the health care development team.
Responsibilities
- Manage calendars, schedules, and correspondence for the Executive Director of Health Care Philanthropy and other members of the health care development team.
- Coordinate meetings, including preparation of materials, logistics, and recording of minutes.
- Serve as backup for answering the ECU Health Foundation main phone line and greet visitors to the building in conjunction with other administrative support staff.
- Support donor recognition and gift processing workflows as needed.
- Prepare routine correspondence, memos, letters, reports, and other materials.
- Support donor stewardship and engagement activities, including event set-up, management, and catering.
- Perform secretarial and clerical duties as assigned.
- Process travel arrangements for the health care development team.
- Process invoices and track expenses for the health care development team.
- Assist in budget development as needed.
- Assist with updating the foundation database, including address, phone numbers, email addresses, and other donor information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma with an additional two years of education in secretarial science, business administration, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in executive-level administrative support is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high volume of diverse assignments while maintaining accuracy and handling competing priorities.
- Ability to learn the organization’s database, content management system, and other software.
- Meticulous grammar, editing, and writing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and a strong client/customer orientation.
- Persuasive oral and written communication skills.
Skills
- Works well with donors, volunteers, executive leadership, physician leadership, and other administration.
- Solid knowledge of fundraising principles and practices.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet creation/management, database management, fundraising software, planned giving software, and other relevant software packages.
Pay
$21.10 - $30.76 per hour
Schedule
Full-time, Monday - Friday day shift (onsite role based in Greenville, NC).
