About the Role

NVIDIA is building GPU acceleration for the analytical data processing ecosystem, including query engines, data platforms, and processing frameworks. This role focuses on defining and shaping the integration surface between NVIDIA's acceleration layer and third-party systems, working closely with maintainers, architects, and engineering leaders of these systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deepen technical expertise in analytical data processing, including query execution, optimization, columnar and vectorized processing, and distributed execution.
  • Serve as a technical advocate for developers building and operating these systems, driving adoption of NVIDIA technologies such as Sirius, cuCascade, RAPIDS, cuDF, nvCOMP, and CUDA-X Data Processing.
  • Integrate NVIDIA's data processing stack into real query engines and OLAP databases, from prototype to measured, functioning integration across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem deployments.
  • Support developers, projects, and partners through onboarding and integration, providing reference implementations, guides, and hands-on engineering help.
  • Track the analytical data processing ecosystem, including new engines, execution models, storage formats, and competing acceleration approaches, and share insights with NVIDIA teams.
  • Collaborate with engine architects and NVIDIA engineering to resolve integration issues, establish best practices, and feed technical requirements back to product teams.
  • Define the integration surface between NVIDIA's GPU data processing libraries and third-party query engines, specifying APIs and patterns for successful integration.
  • Own benchmark evidence for GPU-accelerated analytics, designing and running TPC-H, TPC-DS, and ClickBench measurements, and publishing results.
  • Shape the acceleration roadmap jointly with projects and partners, influencing what gets built and in what order.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering, developer relations, technical partnerships, solutions architecture, or product management, with hands-on experience in analytical data systems.
  • Experience with open source data projects, commercial data platforms, or cloud service provider data services.
  • Proficiency in the internals of analytical data systems, including query execution, vectorized/columnar processing, joins, aggregation, and storage formats like Parquet and Arrow.
  • Ability to read and contribute to large C++, Rust, or Python codebases.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to deliver technical presentations and manage projects.

Qualifications

  • Committer, maintainer, or sustained contributor to a widely used open source data system.
  • Experience shipping an acceleration layer or engine integration into a commercial data platform.
  • Published or presented systems work at venues like VLDB, SIGMOD, CIDR, or major open source conferences.
  • Experience as a technical counterpart to partner engineering leadership, including architecture and design reviews.
  • Familiarity with GPU acceleration platforms, including CUDA, RAPIDS, cuDF, nvCOMP, and CUDA-X libraries.

Skills

  • Deep understanding of analytical data systems and their internals.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Rust, or Python.
  • Ability to manage technical projects and solve complex integration challenges.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Pay

The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4 and 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD for Level 5, determined by location, experience, and internal pay equity. Equity and benefits are also included.
