Developer Experience Engineer

About the role

Vast.ai is seeking a DevEx Engineer to join our team. This role will focus on the experience of building on Vast, owning the technical content, product feedback, community engagement, and creator partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain tutorials, example repositories, and short videos demonstrating how to use Vast.
• Collect and address feedback from the developer community to improve Vast.
• Organize and participate in hackathons, meetups, and conferences.
• Engage with the developer community through Discord, Reddit, and X, providing support and setting the tone for Vast's interactions with developers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with developer-focused creators.

Requirements

You must have experience as an engineer, deploying models, and debugging setups. You should have built a developer community before, ideally from scratch, and enjoy interacting with others. You should be self-motivated and able to ship content without extensive planning.

Qualifications

Nice to have:

• Experience at a cloud, GPU, AI-infrastructure, or developer-tools company.
• A project that gained traction within a developer community.
• Knowledge of the AI/ML stack, including model deployment, inference, and fine-tuning.

Pay

$160,000–$200,000 base depending on experience, plus equity.

We are a remote-first company, but we have travel and conference budgets covered.
