About the role

The Westminster, MD and Crawfordsville, IN Operations Center for Penguin Random House has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, self-directed individual to join our Distribution Systems Support team. This position will be onsite at our Westminster or Crawfordsville facility supporting locations across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Support project initiatives involving distribution-related systems, including user interfaces, back-end processes, and reports.
• Resolve help desk tickets, support users, and customize user exits to accommodate process changes and new customer requirements.
• Work independently and collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• A strong candidate will have experience with some or all of the following:
• College degree plus 2–5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent hands-on experience in an IT development/support role.
• Oracle (PL/SQL, stored objects).
• Linux commands and shell scripting.
• Python, HTML, JavaScript, Perl, C.
• Barcode symbologies, printing, compliance labeling.
• TCP/IP socket programming, API programming/usage.
• Git Source Code Repository, VS Code.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working within a proven set of development guidelines.
• Attention to detail, effective time management, and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Warehouse Management Systems, and/or Transportation Management Systems.
