Engineering$122k–$176k/yrFull-time

About the Role

Snowflake's mission is to mobilize the world's data as the AI Data Cloud. Our AI and developer products help developers and data teams build, deploy, and operate modern data and AI applications. We're looking for an early-career Developer Advocate who is passionate about developer experience, AI, data, and education. You will help builders discover, adopt, and succeed with Snowflake's AI and developer portfolio by creating high-quality technical content, demos, workshops, and community programs. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Community, and field teams, while bringing developer feedback back into the product.

Responsibilities

  • Create technical content and adoption assets:
    • Build clear, accurate documentation, quickstarts, tutorials, code samples, demos, and reference applications for developers and data practitioners.
    • Turn complex AI, data, and application-development concepts into approachable, practical learning experiences.
    • Contribute reusable patterns, templates, and playbooks that help builders move from first use to production.
  • Support launches and developer programs:
    • Help prepare priority AI and developer products for launch by testing developer journeys, identifying friction, and creating day-one enablement assets.
    • Design and deliver workshops, hackathons, talks, and hands-on labs for customers, partners, students, and developer communities.
    • Work with field and go-to-market teams on customer-ready demos, solution briefs, presentations, and technical walkthroughs.
  • Connect developers and product teams:
    • Gather feedback from community, customers, field teams, support, documentation, and product usage, then synthesize it into clear developer insights.
    • Partner with Product and Engineering to improve onboarding, documentation, samples, APIs, tools, and the overall developer experience.
    • Use qualitative feedback and adoption metrics to evaluate your work and improve content and programs over time.
  • Represent Snowflake in the developer ecosystem:
    • Participate authentically in developer, data, AI, and open-source communities through events, forums, technical content, and contributions.
    • Build relationships with practitioners, learn where they get stuck, and help them succeed with Snowflake and the broader ecosystem.
    • Share emerging developer needs, tools, and practices with internal teams.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A strong technical foundation and experience building software products demonstrated through prior roles, internships, coursework, open-source contributions, or substantial personal projects.
  • Hands-on experience with developer tools, APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, source control, CI/CD etc.
  • Familiarity with modern AI development, including prompting, grounding, evaluation, RAG, agents, tool calling, or LLM APIs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts through clear narratives, examples, and presentations.
  • Comfort presenting and facilitating technical sessions for groups with different levels of experience.
  • A bias for action and ownership: you can structure ambiguous problems, learn quickly, seek feedback, and iterate.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working across technical and non-technical teams through school, internships, community work, or prior roles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, or project experience as a software, data, ML/AI, or solutions engineer.
  • Experience with Snowflake or another cloud data platform.
  • Understanding of data and analytics workflows such as SQL, ELT/ETL, notebooks, dbt, data science, or application development.
  • Contributions to open-source projects, technical blogs, documentation, videos, or developer communities.
  • Experience organizing hackathons, meetups, workshops, student clubs, or other technical community programs.
  • Experience measuring content, community, or product adoption using quantitative and qualitative signals.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Flexible spending & health savings account.
  • At least 12 paid holidays.
  • Paid time off.
  • Parental leave.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • Other company benefits.

Pay

The estimated base salary range for this role is $122,000 - $175,950. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.
