About the role
Generating and simulating operational level plans to explore the art of the possible in defending the ultimate high ground in a future space war. Dynamically optimizing both terrestrial and space-based sensors to provide comprehensive space domain awareness. Strategically optimizing the placement and maneuvering of constellations of satellites to satisfy multiple, evolving priorities.
Our team leverages industry standard open-source software solutions such as GitLab, Kubernetes, and Helm. Our automation-first and “everything as code” mindset allows our software engineers to focus their time and efforts on what is most important - building cutting edge functionality for our end users.
Responsibilities
- Performs technical planning, design, development, integration, verification, and validation for total system life cycle.
- Analyses performed at all levels of system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal, incorporating design methods and standards for Cyber Security, software, and hardware infrastructure.
- Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems in computer language.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer/product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints, aligning to software and hardware deployment pipelines and factories.
- Performs functional and timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software feature definitions and acceptance criteria.
- Applies standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
- Applies hardware and software knowledge, cyber security standards in business/mission applications, and user feedback to develop software.
- Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve program problems, output/input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Ensures software standards are met.
- Validates incorporation of features and use cases into implemented designs.
Requirements
- Experience with application containerization (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd) in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Ansible, Terraform, or Packer.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience with CI/CD - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools (GitLab, ArgoCD).
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Qualifications
- Development experience with Java or Python.
- Recent on-program Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience (e.g., automation, incident management, monitoring, optimization, programming/scripting, metrics, security, etc.).
- Development experience with Typescript or Java.
- Familiarity with the Space Domain.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $98,100.00 - $182,100.00
