Dev Ops Principal Systems Engineer

Within Space Systems, you’ll contribute to high-reliability space electronics and mission systems that have enabled civil, commercial, and national security space missions for over 25 years. This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced processing solutions, RF and optical payloads, and cross-domain technologies that push mission capabilities beyond previous limits.
As a DevOps Systems Engineer in the Space System Product line, you’ll collaborate with ISSE and platform engineers to support System Administration activities on classified cloud processing assets and mission-unique equipment. We value technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, a passion for learning, and a customer-focused attitude.
Responsibilities
- Resolve system configuration and security patching vulnerability issues.
- Manage system configuration changes and assess the impact of modifications on operational performance, security posture, and compliance.
- Perform platform installations and configurations for development and delivered systems.
- Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure following best practices for scalability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define infrastructure requirements and understand application needs.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment and continuous integration using industry-standard tools.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement optimizations to enhance availability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Implement security measures and best practices to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents related to infrastructure, networking, and application deployment.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and DevOps best practices to continuously improve infrastructure and development processes.
- Maintain lifecycle management, security, upgrades, automation, backups, and operational reliability of enterprise VM-based services.
- Generate consistent documentation for administrative procedures and log configuration changes.
Requirements
- Hold an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Associate's degree in IT (or equivalent coursework) and at least 2+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with on-premises cloud infrastructure technologies (AWS).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes and Docker) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Rancher, Docker Swarm).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with automation toolkits such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools or frameworks (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, ELK stack).
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline.
- Active COMPTIA Security+ certification.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph.
- Experience deploying SaaS and PaaS services for user consumption.
- Experience with Agile Methodologies and Tools.
- Collaborative experience working in cross-functional teams.

Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $118,095 - $200,762. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Merrimack, NH. Due to the need for consistent in-person collaboration, remote work is not available for this role. The work environment includes flexible initiatives such as every other Friday off, flextime, and telecommuting options where applicable.
