About the role

The role is responsible for managing the library's collection of rare and historic documents, ensuring their preservation and accessibility.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the cataloging and digitization of historical materials
  • Maintain the physical and digital collections in accordance with archival standards
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance user engagement with historical resources
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the integration of historical resources into educational programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in archives or similar field
  • Experience with digital preservation techniques
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of archival principles and practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of copyright laws and fair use

Skills

  • Expertise in using archival software
  • Experience with metadata standards such as MARC and Dublin Core
  • Knowledge of digital preservation tools and technologies
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively

Pay

$60,000 annually

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
