Detention Security Officer - Part Time

As a Part-Time Detention Security Officer in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in government and other industries, with flexibility to build a schedule that works for you through the Claim a Shift platform. This unarmed, driving position requires a valid driver’s license and involves conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, assisting with access control, and delivering exceptional customer service while reflecting Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or authorized personnel at a government correctional location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, or facility concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals entering restricted areas in accordance with established facility procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports related to incidents, patrols, access activity, and other security-related events.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located (required for driving positions).
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws as a condition of employment.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations; may be required prior to employment.

Pay

$17.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Tuesday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Friday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
