About the role
The Detail Technician at Gresham Toyota is a critical part of presenting vehicles and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This position operates under a flat-rate structure, where your speed, consistency, and quality directly determine your earnings.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on new, used, and service vehicles, including washing, vacuuming, polishing, and protecting to dealership standards.
- Prepare vehicles for guest delivery, ensuring they are clean, presentable, and ready for a strong first impression.
- Apply paint protection, fabric protection, and aftermarket appearance products as directed.
- Inspect vehicles for cosmetic issues such as scratches, stains, and odors, and address or escalate as necessary.
- Operate detail equipment including pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners safely and effectively.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe detail bay and work area at all times.
- Clock in with service advisors, porters, and sales staff to prioritize vehicle readiness and meet delivery timelines.
- Work efficiently on a flat-rate structure, where your throughput, speed, and quality directly drive your earnings.
Requirements
- 1+ year of detailing experience, with dealership detail experience a strong plus.
- A high personal standard for quality, noticing details others might miss and ensuring only top-quality work is signed off on.
- A self-directed and productive mindset, comfortable working quickly and consistently, as flat-rate pay rewards these qualities.
- Comfortable operating detail equipment safely and effectively.
- Physically capable of standing, bending, and working on your feet throughout the shift.
- Reliable and punctual, contributing to a well-functioning detail bay that benefits the entire store.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
