Position Summary
The Desktop Technician handles moves, migrations, and day-to-day issues in the infrastructure environment for The Marvin Group.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Affords end users in resolving hardware and software issues by fielding telephone calls, email, HelpDesk tickets, and visits to user community to diagnose issues, perform troubleshooting activities and facilitate resolution
- Performs moves/adds and changes to PC
- Physical moves
- Software installs
- Hardware Installs
- Reimages
- Determines, tracks and monitors the issues in ticketing system to facilitate a timely resolution
- Maintains and operates computer systems and/or network connectivity
- Provides technical support and guidance to users
- Lights network Administration duties
Skills And Requirements
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
- PC hardware knowledge
- Basic working/configuration knowledge of Windows 11 Enterprise
- Basic working/configuration knowledge of Microsoft applications (Office, Outlook, Visio, Project, etc…)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (as pertains to computer connectivity, printing, Domain additions, etc..)
- Knowledge of Anti-Virus software (install/config)
- Basic knowledge of network topology concepts
- Ingenuity and flexibility are required
- Relies on established guidelines and instructions to perform daily job functions
- Relies on knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals
- Works under supervision and reports to a supervisor. Can also work independently as needed
- A+ certification a bonus
- Microsoft certifications a bonus
- Must be able to speak/read/write English
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
- Has a Highschool Diploma or G.E.D equivalent
Work Environment
Medium-to-large office environment
Fast paced office environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments
