Responsibilities
- Assemble a complete symbols list and common project notes from the REI Standard relevant to the project.
- Mark up branch circuit lighting and power plans and fill in panel board schedules with moderate supervision.
- Apply and perform Rosendin standards for wire sizing, transformer feeders, and protection from published schedules.
- Calculate power loads, size feeders, and determine the estimated demand load summary for a distribution system under the direction of a Sr. Designer or an Engineer.
- Direct and coordinate signal and low voltage subcontractors with other trades, such as architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, vertical transportation, kitchen equipment, and OFCI systems.
- Create details as required to define installation for construction.
- Provide the design lead function for small jobs.
- Layout Electrical Room, including clearances, with minimal oversight.
Requirements
- Some college or technical training in engineering or related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Designer.
Qualifications
- Ability to review manufacturer submittals for electrical characteristics.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Schedule
General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
