Designer, FP II

About the role

This role supports the Chicago market and is open to a fully remote candidate. It involves overseeing project design progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, as-builts, and operations and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive design plan to meet schedules and budgets
• Participate in team and on-site progress meetings
• Understand and follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications
• Ensure AHJ requirements and procedures are followed
• Multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines

Requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience in the design of fire alarms or low-voltage systems
• Previous experience working in Revit and AutoCAD
• Prior large project design experience, especially in data centers
• A commitment to providing exceptional customer service
• Maintain cutting-edge industry knowledge
• Pre-plan and execute tasks with great detail
• NICET Certification preferred
• Experience with Navisworks, Revizto, or other BIM tools preferred

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Skills

• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Understanding of building codes and standards
• Experience with BIM tools (Navisworks, Revizto)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Pay

$35.00 - $48.00 per hour plus bonus
