Designer
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Develop and design wall panel, floor/roof truss concept drawings
- Ensure conformance to all relevant building requirements and municipality building codes, if applicable
- Interpret design requirements as indicated by procedures, design manuals, and other applicable specifications
- Generate layouts for final construction
- Affirm designs are accurate, optimized, and conforms to standards
- Willingness to assist with training of new associates
- Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement
- Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers
- Participates as a team player in all phases of the organization
- Is open and responsive to change
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
- Experience in designing residential, multi-family, commercial, custom and production wall, floor and roof trusses
- General computer knowledge
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with MiTek and/or equivalent truss design software
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
- Attention to detail, takes pride in quality of work
- Efficient and able to complete assignments within a given deadline
- Knowledge of standard construction practices, codes and carpentry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Communicates effectively with team members
- Strong team work ethic
Associate degree in related field preferred and at least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
