Designated Selling Associate - Luxottica - The Mall at Green Hills

We’re looking for a Designated Selling Associate (DSA) Salesperson who is passionate about fashion, enjoys working one-on-one with customers, and thrives in a sales environment. DSAs drive volume for Nordstrom while championing the brand they represent.

About the role

As a Designated Selling Associate, you’ll be a leader in customer service, product knowledge, merchandising, and selling. You’ll drive sales by understanding brand performance, cultivating relationships with both existing and new customers, and educating peers on brand trends, product knowledge, and style.

Responsibilities

• Set and achieve sales goals for both in-store and digital selling using effective selling tools (including text and social media) and reservations
• Build lasting relationships with customers
• Provide exceptional service tailored to each customer’s needs, occasionally performing duties in other departments or brands as needed
• Offer honest and confident feedback to customers about style, fit, and the value of items in their wardrobe
• Seek fashion and product knowledge through meetings and trainings to build expertise
• Build relationships with other DSAs, Stylists, and surrounding departments by conducting product knowledge meetings
• Provide valid product feedback to District Managers to improve store assortments
• Drive predictable business through appointment-based selling during event and non-event timeframes
• Maintain a customer-ready department by stocking, re-merchandising, updating displays, handling price markdowns, managing merchandise transfers, and cleaning
• Grow sales by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts

• Ability to read and interpret sales reports in relation to goals
• Confidence in educating customers on new and emerging brands, tailoring suggestions to their needs
• Comfort with a range of price points and the ability to demonstrate the value of items in completing a customer’s wardrobe
• Strong understanding of customers’ holistic wardrobe and style, with high organizational skills to strategically follow up and advise on wardrobe completion

Physical Requirements

• Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
• Handling bulky or awkwardly shaped items, including reaching above the head to lift them
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is $14.55. At Nordstrom, most selling employees receive commission, which varies based on the merchandise sold. Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically range from 3% to 14.5%, while Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales typically receive 3%. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.
