About the role

The DSDC Manager will lead design support activities during construction and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the construction phase. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with large public works and underground rail transit projects, including familiarity with bored tunnel lining and support-of-excavation design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead DSDC teams of project engineers and Subject Matter Experts providing design and construction submittal reviews.
  • Coordinate engineering input from multidisciplinary teams, including civil, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, and rail systems engineers.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with clients, program and construction management teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders on matters related to DSDC services.
  • Coordinate design support activities and facilitate resolution of design and construction-related issues.
  • Keep project and company management informed of key issues and potential risks associated with DSDC services.
  • Support effective communication and coordination among design, construction, and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience supporting large public works projects through the design and construction phases.
  • Experience with underground rail transit projects preferred.
  • Familiarity with bored tunnel lining and support-of-excavation design.
  • Experience with alternative project delivery methods, such as Progressive Design-Build and Target Price contracts, preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
