Design Supervisor

The Design Supervisor is responsible for the training and development of the design team, and driving sales for Floor and Decor. They ensure customers have a positive sales experience through exceptional customer service.

About the role

Minimum eligibility requirements include a design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) or 6 years of interior design experience, with an option for a combination of education and experience totaling 6 years. Leadership or management experience is also required, along with knowledge of hard surface flooring and proficiency in basic math. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers
• Hire and develop a dynamic design team, including performance evaluations
• Greet store customers and support design walk-ins
• Maintain and schedule appointments, generate leads, and network
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessory advice for both residential and commercial projects
• Sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions for multiple customer projects
• Communicate consistently and concisely with customers and others
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation
• Support company initiatives and best practices
• Engage in current and emerging design trends and utilize design applications
• Participate in local professional affiliations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Self-motivated and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to perform medium work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects
• Ability to use hands and fingers, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
