Responsibilities
- Manage multiple data center design projects from proposal through construction documentation and project closeout
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, including electrical, mechanical, structural, and BIM/VDC professionals
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and deliverables
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead project kickoff meetings, design reviews, coordination meetings, and client presentations
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
- Ensure design quality, consistency, and compliance with applicable U.S. building codes, client standards, and industry best practices
- Coordinate with technical discipline leads to resolve design challenges and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration
- Support contract administration, scope management, change orders, and project reporting
- Mentor junior project staff and promote continuous improvement in project delivery processes
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation, project planning, and client relationship management as needed
- Travel occasionally to client offices, project sites, and team meetings across the United States
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline
- 7+ years of experience managing multidisciplinary engineering or design projects, preferably involving mission-critical facilities or data centers
- Proven experience leading complex projects through all phases of design and engineering
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including electrical power distribution, mechanical cooling systems, and critical facility design principles
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams within a consulting engineering, architecture, or EPC environment
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling software
- Familiarity with Revit, Revizto, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or comparable design coordination platforms is considered an asset
- Knowledge of applicable U.S. building codes, including IBC, NEC, NFPA standards, and other relevant industry regulations
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple concurrent projects
Education Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. EIT or PEng license and additional certifications (LEED AP, PMP, etc.) are a plus.
