About the role

The Design Professional will be responsible for key production and coordination for all project phases from conceptual design to construction documents. They will provide planning, design, and coordination consultation on larger projects and may manage small scale projects from conceptual design through construction administration.

Responsibilities

  • Research or receive technical guidance on unusual or complex issues for proposed projects plans.
  • Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions.
  • Provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projects.
  • Initiate and create conceptual designs and plans of projects with responsibility for preparation of presentation, schematic design drawings, design development, and construction documents.
  • Prepare architectural plans and renderings.
  • Review and coordinate conceptual designs from all disciplines.
  • Conduct code research and analysis.
  • Analyze client, contractor, and/or consultant problems to conceive and develop architectural solutions to these problems.
  • Absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
  • Perform work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for smaller scale projects.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs.
  • Support business development activities as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Arts or Science in Architecture
  • 1-3 years' experience as a design professional
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Firm grasp of building technology fundamentals
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to effectively and confidently prioritize and execute tasks with many competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • IDP/AXP hours complete
  • Master of Architecture
  • Experience with Newforma Project Center and/or Newforma Project Analyzer
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Experience with Bluebeam PDF Revu
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit software
