Design Professional - Building Envelope
Position Responsibilities
- Provides roofing and envelope consulting services to clients
- Performs forensic field investigations
- Consults with Cushing Terrell project teams during design for envelope related issues, with special emphasis on roofing
- Inspects work to ensure compliance with specifications, approves quality of materials and work, and advises client and construction teams
- Prepares contract documents for building contractors
- Completes construction cost estimates
- Checks drawings on small projects and prepares feedback for the project team
- Administers construction contracts on small projects including administration of addenda, substitutions, change orders, and submittal reviews
- Conducts on-site observations of work during construction to monitor compliance with contract documents; and conducts final inspections
- Directs activities of other architectural team members engaged in small projects
- Begins to develop external and internal client relationships
Required Qualifications
- Architecture, Construction Engineering Technology, or Civil Engineering degree from an accredited school
- 3-8 years’ experience in the design or construction of Roofing and Building Envelope Systems
- Construction administration experience
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office suite, Bluebeam, Outlook
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Able to learn and adapt
- High level of collaboration and communication with other team members
- Knowledge of building codes and construction practices
Salary Range
The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 to $80,000 annually.
Position Benefits
Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate’s years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law).
This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
