Design & Product Engineer II

About the Role

This position is based in St. Louis, Missouri. Applicants who are not currently located in the area or are unwilling to relocate will not be considered.

You will participate in the product development process, interfacing with internal departments, customers, and vendors across all facets. Responsibilities include supporting new product design and product changes for air compressor models, providing technical support during new product launches, and resolving quality issues with mature products or production problems affecting structural integrity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Execute all aspects of discrete product development projects through the entire project development cycle.
• Lead design reviews and provide technical support to ensure successful product launches.
• Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility.
• Build engineering prototypes and conduct product testing.
• Work with the sales department and customers to collect design inputs.
• Collaborate with vendors to gather feasibility information.
• Resolve quality issues with new and existing products, including customer quality forms and interactions with customers and vendors.
• Create bills of materials, parts lists, setup sheets, technical manuals, and documentation for internal and external use.
• Research new developments and innovations in the field.
• Plan and implement process changes that positively impact business results.
• Contribute to engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues, providing relevant information, recommending options, and implementing directives.
• Maintain expert-level product knowledge and application.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient experience with 3D Solid Edge, AutoCAD, and Office 365 software; SAP experience preferred.
• Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, WordPress, and rendering workflows) are a plus.
• Knowledge of technical products and industrial settings, particularly air compression and rotation equipment, is preferred.
