Design Principal, Engineering Development (Mechanical)

For our client, we are seeking a Design Principal, Engineering Development (Mechanical) to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. In this remote role, you will set the global mechanical engineering direction for mission-critical data center design and help shape how new solutions are incorporated into standardized reference designs. You will partner closely with regional design teams, major capital equipment stakeholders, customers, and external design partners to ensure projects are implemented effectively across multiple geographies. This is a highly cross-functional role focused on advancing mechanical design consistency, meeting evolving customer requirements, and supporting the delivery of complex technical facilities. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $136,000 – $204,000 annually Responsibilities Lead global mechanical engineering direction for the company’s design organization Evaluate new products for integration into reference designs Support regional design teams in project implementation Provide subject matter expertise to the major capital equipment team Engage with customers to gather evolving design needs Own and lead a comprehensive design process for data centers Manage interdisciplinary collaboration across various design partners Qualifications 7+ years of experience in a Design MEP Firm or mission-critical building operator environment Familiarity with local mechanical design and construction practices across AMER, EMEA, and APAC Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred PE, CEng, or local equivalent is desirable Fluency in spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus Experience with major customer design requirements is preferred Benefits Competitive employee benefits aligned with core values Employee Assistance Program access Health, life, and disability insurance options available Retirement plan contributions by both employee and employer Accrued Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays provided Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
