About the role
PCI is seeking an experienced Design Modeler for its PCI Indianapolis 551 operations based in Carmel, IN.
Responsibilities
- Attend kick off meetings with Estimating and Operations staff at the beginning of projects to ensure scope, project details, and contract requirements are understood before shop drawings and/or modeling begin.
- Prepare 2D shop drawings for glass and glazing products using AutoCAD.
- Create 3D models of glazing systems utilizing Revit.
- Cover PCI scope of work with other trades shop drawings and models.
- Coordinate actively in project coordination and design meetings.
- Elevate model and document inconsistencies to the attention of the Design Manager and Operations Team to determine what action is to be taken.
- Prepare material orders based on approved shop drawings and structural calculations.
- Attend staff training to enhance staff members’ knowledge and expertise of the standardized software used.
- Create and maintain project-specific content to ensure they are consistently aligned with instructions, guidelines, in-house standards, and the project’s BIM standards.
- Engage actively with Design and Operations Team to implement best BIM/VDC practices.
Requirements
- 2-year technical degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 2+ years of drafting experience, specifically in the glass and glazing industry.
- 2+ years of CNC programming experience.
- Must possess proficiency with software platforms including Revit and AutoCAD.
- Must be able to present a portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience with Bluebeam or Adobe PDF Software.
- Ability to understand design and document coordination.
- Innovative and creatively minded individual looking to improve process, procedure, and construction techniques to provide continued improvement and efficiency to role, work scopes, and our customers.
- Ability to take responsibility for the outcome and results of assigned projects.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as durations of independent/isolated/unsupervised environments.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering Fields, etc.) preferred.
- Experience with curtain wall and storefront window systems is preferred.
- Unitized curtain wall drafting experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Navisworks, SketchUp, or Logikal is a plus.
- Local to the Indianapolis metro area.

Pay
$59,500 – $80,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.
