Design Manager - Water / Wastewater Design
About the role
Brown and Caldwell is in need of the right candidate to provide design delivery leadership for our largest and most complex water and wastewater design projects. This is a rare opportunity to lead major projects and deliver exceptional service to our well-established clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership within the team.
- Lead the design process and ensure high-quality outputs.
- Cook up the design process to support project goals.
- Coordinate design teams to support project goals.
- Aid the Project Manager (PM) in the development and implementation of design scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage design resources to ensure efficient utilization.
- Coordinate the creation, submission, and revision of design deliverables to meet project demands.
- Help oversee design quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) management.
- Manage design deliverables in line with project requirements.
- Flexibly adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.
Skills And Competencies
- Strong ability in design process leadership to achieve project goals.
- Highly skilled with the technologies, processes and disciplines included in the projects.
- Strong technical leadership ability and capability to provide guidance to teams.
- Possess design resource management skills, ensuring optimal utilization.
- Skilled in design QA and QC management.
Requirements
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of professional or relevant experience, with 2 to 3 years of experience required in design management.
- Licensed Professional Engineer required.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- 8+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in related experience preferred.
- Demonstrated strong project management skills.
- Ability to focus on client needs while balancing multiple priorities to include but not limited to project management, design, bidding and construction management services.
- Strong technical writing skills required.
- Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation.
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture or related professional experience is required.
- Preferred Education: Master's degree in related engineering field of Mechanical Engineering, Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
Pay Range
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location
B: $142,000 - $194,000
