About the role
This position is responsible for assisting the Design and Installation team with installation as well as troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment. As the lead technician on job sites, you will ensure the completion of jobs, provide on-site training to other installation team members, and assist the service department with routine maintenance and service of AV equipment. You will deliver outstanding customer service and develop working relationships with clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist the design and installation department to install AV equipment
- Perform routine maintenance or service work on AV equipment
- Configure AV equipment with manufacturer software
- Direct installation team and take a leadership role while on job site
- Provide training and development to junior technicians
- Ensure work is completed according to company standards
- Operate system control software
- Maintain contact with customers in a friendly, professional manner
- Leave customer work site in a clean and orderly manner
- Maintain a professional appearance on the job
- Respond to customer issues in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain proper record keeping and care of company-owned assets/equipment
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Knowledge of leading audio-visual equipment manufacturers and control systems, as well as architectural and cabling requirements
- Ability to QC, maintain, and operate audio-visual equipment
- An electrical or mechanical engineering degree, or on-the-job AV design and/or installation experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturer configuration software
- Completion of Tech 1 training
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to repeatedly lift and move objects weighing in excess of 50 lbs
- Must be able to regularly use and work safely on ladders at heights of 12-16 feet
- Must be able to safely operate company-owned and leased vehicles, or own vehicle on company time
- Able to crawl, kneel, and get off the floor without assistance
- Able to read instructions and computer screens (may use corrective lenses)
- Able to climb stairs, walk without assistance, see, hear, and speak
- Able to work under tables, desks, racks, and in other confined spaces without assistance
- Able to operate power tools safely
- Ability to commute/relocate

Schedule
- Monday to Friday, typically 8-hour day shift
- On-call service support once every 3 weeks with company-provided phone
