About the role

Independent leadership of activities and projects for product improvement within the framework of Design for Excellence (DfX), such as Design for Cost, Design for Manufacturability, etc., within the global (OTC) engineering organization. This includes:

  • Taking into account all stakeholder requirements (including quality and “Right First Time”) along the entire value stream, with the goal of total cost optimization.
  • Definition and implementation of a roadmap for improvement measures including savings targets, with responsibility for on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Consolidation of cost savings at a global level and according to maturity stage, including monthly reporting.
  • Collaboration and coordination with sales, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, construction/commissioning, and service to ensure all stakeholder requirements along the value stream are met and to avoid sub-optimization.
  • Integration of technology teams according to their technological responsibilities.
  • Organization, execution, and coaching of (online) workshops and working groups to identify, evaluate, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Proactive tracking of internal tasks and actions.
  • Preparation of global monthly reporting including roadmaps.

This position can be filled at any of our global Voith Hydro locations (except Germany). Remote work policies will adhere to the regulations of the specific location where you are based—this is not a fully remote position.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed university degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of experience in project management, ideally in an international industrial environment.
  • Proven track record in implementing Design for Excellence (DfX) principles, including product cost optimization and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate and motivate teams across different sites and cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience in moderating and coaching workshops and working groups in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to internal task management, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experienced in preparing and presenting clear, structured reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English, with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required (10%).
