About the role
Work with leading electrical and telecommunication companies and their utility systems to provide analysis of infrastructure. Inspect and catalog utility assets to create accurate and consistent utility asset data sets for our clients, delivering real-time, updated, and quality data to improve service and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform light GIS editing and manipulation of utility company data.
- Use document management systems, filing, and document scanning.
- Execute and plan daily goals while meeting quality, time, and budget constraints.
- Learn to identify electrical/communication utility equipment and potential hazards.
- Review and/or correct data integrity errors within GIS databases.
- Comply with all safety regulations to maintain a successful safety record.
- Travel throughout various service territories both within and out of state, as needed.
- Deal with governing authorities, negotiate with private landowners, and provide communication, instruction, and guidance to contractors.
- Learn and operate customer-based proprietary software and other computer systems to expedite the work order process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to endure frequent: driving, standing, walking long distances (up to 5 miles or more in a day), navigating rough terrain on foot, and lifting/balancing objects up to 25 lbs.
- Clean DMV driving record and ability to safely drive/operate a 4x4 vehicle.
- Computer literacy, especially in MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and/or Google Chrome.
- Ability to travel throughout client’s service area and travel overnight as needed.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- Strong telecommunications and/or electrical distribution technical knowledge and skills (a plus).
- Knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution construction and planning procedures (beneficial).
Pay
Starting wage: $19–22 per hour.
Schedule
Full-time position with a minimum of 40–45 hours per week.
